Measurements

Ok, a little late but here they are. While at the gym yesterday, I had my measurements taken. They are a lot better than where they where before my journey started. In September 2011 here is where I was:

Waist: 44.25 inches
Hips: 51 inches
Thighs: 27.5 inches
Arms: 14 inches

Yesterday (April 6th, 2012)

Waist: 31 inches          a loss of 13.25 inches
Hips: 40                       a loss of 11 inches
Thighs: 19.5 inches     a loss of 8 inches
Arms: 11 inches          a loss of 3 inches

I also measured the following:

Neck: 12 inches
Chest: 34 inches
Calf: 15 inches

I will have these measurements redone in 1 month and see how I do. I am currently doing cardio 3 days a week and strength training 3 days a week. Today is Saturday and I will be heading to the gym in a little bit. But I wanted to get this posted before I forgot, lol. Yesterday, I had 618 calories. That is 282 less than the goal my doctor wants me at. Man, this is such a different way of thinking. Before, I had to try my hardest to stay UNDER my daily goal. Now I have to try so hard just to REACH my daily limit.

Today my goal for exercise is to do 30 minutes on the bike then pull out my P90X and start that today. If I do not die doing it, I will post again tonight on how it went, lol.

Here is my before and after photos. I had my surgery 6 months ago and the top photos are the night before.



So far so good. I did 6 straight days at the gym last week, took Sunday off, and today is day 5 in a row for this week. I am staying within my calorie goal of 900 per day. I see the trainer at the gym today and I know I will need to step up my workouts too. I am maintaining my weight which is ok, but I would prefer to be losing it. I am going to take my measurements today too and will post those when I get back home. Short post today cause I am running late, but will catch up more later.

My workout routine

I am just getting back into the workout scene so I am taking it nice and easy. I love this online site www.virtuagym.com On here you can get a personalized workout routine for free! I am aiming at hitting the gym 6 days a week. so my workouts will be rotated between the 2 sets I have. So starting tomorrow I will be doing the following:

Even days:
Elliptical-Low intensity 5 minutes
Seated leg press x20
Leg Abduction x20
Leg Adductionx20
Lat Pull Down x20
Seated Chest Press x20
Horizontal Row Machine x20
Dumbbell Biceps Curl x20
Cable Triceps Push Down x20
Crunches (keeping legs extended) x10 (30 second rest) x10
Elliptical-Medium intensity 10 min
Elliptical-Low intensity 5 min

Odd days
Elliptical-Low intensity 3 min
Elliptical-High intensity 5 min
Elliptical-Medium intensity 8 min
Elliptical-High intensity 5 min
Elliptical-Low intensity 3 min

I weighed in this morning at 155 and will try to get my measurements done later. Please note, I did have gastric surgery 6 months ago and have lost 73 pounds since May 2011. My goal now is to tone and tighten. So I may have different results than you if you have not had the surgery. I also eat a lower amount of calories than the normal person, so please don't say I am eating to little. I am seeing my doctor on a regular basis an am doing great in the health area. Thank you so much!
